CLIENT: ROCKY MOUNTAIN BICYCLESPROJECT: FLOW SERIESDETAILS: ART DIRECTION + DESIGNCLIENT LOCATION: VANCOUVER, BC
The Flow Series dirt jump bikes needed a serious overhaul. I worked with Rocky Mountain’s young riders to develop colors and graphics that would appeal to the youth market, and boost sales on these models. We came up with some wild colors, but most of the far out ones were too crazy for all the reps working for the brand.
It’s pretty cool to see your design being ridden by the best! In the photos:
- Geoff Gulevich with mad style on the no-footed can. These colors really “popped” in photos. Flow 1, electric blue (above).
- Dave Smutok getting c-razy with the Flow 2 (green) and some heavy metal (below). This was a 2-page ad I designed that ran in Decline magazine.
Rocky Mountain releases limited edition framesets with unique graphics and paint. Pictured in orange is the Flow DJ SE “Nature Rules” frameset.
The Flow DJ SE was inspired by the doodle above – which I made during our sales meeting (!).
It’s always nice to see a kid riding your graphic.
In the end, the bikes were a success-certain models sold out within months of product launch!
